Making It Through The Crazy Fall Season

Being a business owner, mom, and many many other titles I won't bore you with is a tough job.  I am not sure why but I find it even harder to get things done once we move into the colder season.  Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Fall time.  I love the colors, I love the scents, I freaking love pumpkin, I love the clothes, bundling up, and most importantly I love bringing my boots out.  So if I love Fall so much why do I struggle at getting my work done?

I am going to blame it on the cold weather, the extra 10 lbs I put on:(, and getting dark so early (I hate daylight savings).  This year I promised myself that I would not get the fall blues.  Here are some things that I have been working on to keep myself motivated.  Let me know your thoughts and tricks to handle this Fall weather.

1- Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge fan of the Miracle Morning.  I put extra attention to completing my six steps every day because it helps set the tone for what I am planning to accomplish for the day, week, month, year, and so on.  Meditation is so important to me, mostly so I don't lose my shit each day with the amount of stress that I am under (which I am sure you have that stress as well).  I can spend an entire blog talking about what I do in my morning but you can be sure that I spend at least 30 minutes enjoying my favorite cup of BFF coffees!

2- Eating healthy, which by the way I hate.  I am that type of person that builds their day around what I plan to eat.  I absolutely love food, all types of food, I don't discriminate.  As much as I love food, those extra 10 lbs that I put on are not loving it.  I have also been feeling really tired and drinking more energy drinks then I am used too.  I went to dinner and drinks with a friend who looked amazing, I then found out she was doing the Keto diet.  I have not been a fan of the diet from what I have heard but I thought if I can look as good as her I was willing to try anything.   I am on day 12, have not cheated (which is rare for me), and surprisingly feeling great.  I have lost 6 of those 10 lbs, even though I have more I want to lose but the important thing is that I am not tired and have more energy.  I have been starting each day with bulletproof coffee, which took time to get used to but now I am starting to enjoy it.

3- Be active.... That is hard when it is cold outside but I have been putting extra attention to walking stairs instead of escalators, parking farther away at stores, and taking longer routes when walking.  I have also started 30 days of yoga challenge which seems to be kicking my butt.

4- Take a bath.  I don't have a lot of time for this so I have been doing it every Sunday with Epson salt, some music, and NO KIDS!  They are learning that this is 30 minutes of mom time.

5-Chakra Crystals - Now this is a new one for me.  I read my first book last week so I am very new to this practice but I loved what I read and I am looking forward to learning more.  I have realized that my heart chakra is out of balance and I need to add love back into my life in every aspect.  This is a work in progress

6- Wine - Now most people tell you to drink less to feel better.  Well, you will never hear that from me!  I like to tell people that red wine is heart healthy and I care about my heart.  The truth is that sometimes we need to do something that we love and makes us feel good and not worry about what anyone else thinks of it.  I enjoy a glass of wine with my dinner and no diet is going to take that away from me!

These are some of the things I have been working on in October.  Now I am hearing some of you say that you don't have time to focus on yourself.  Trust me I know the feeling.  I start my day at 5 am and usually don't walk back through the door until 10 pm, I am busy, I don't have time for things but I realized that if I don't make time for myself I won't be doing anyone any favors.  It is important for us to be happy and healthy to be successful in our jobs, parenting, relationships, etc.  So don't feel bad about taking a little time for your self.  What other ideas do you have out there for me????

By the way, anyone notice how cute my picture is for this blog? That would be my adorable dog Rosie, she loves me and never wants to leave my side.  This is a picture of her while I was doing a fall photo shoot, she is the best at posing.
